The Council of Ministers approved on February 2 the Decree-Law that will extinguish Caixa Geral de Depósitos Employees’ Pension Fund, by transferring to Caixa Geral de Aposentações the respective pension liabilities and the corresponding amount to meet them, to be invested in public debt to be issued under the 2023 financing program.

The diploma, once promulgated by the President of the Republic, will come into force after publication in the Diário da República.
